PATIENTS
From root to recovery, Rivi Endo strives to keep you comfortable and informed.
Purpose of a Root Canal
A root canal is performed to save a natural tooth that has deep decay, infection, or trauma.
The procedure removes the damaged pulp (nerve tissue), disinfects the inside of the tooth, and seals it.
The tooth is then restored with a filling or crown for long-term strength.
Your comfort matters to us. At your first visit, you’ll receive a thorough exam, advanced 3D imaging, and a clear explanation of your treatment plan. Most treatments are completed in one visit, with minimal downtime afterward.
What to Expect
Payment AND Insurance
Rivi Endo is a fee-for-service practice, so payment is made directly at the time of care. For your convenience, we prepare your insurance claim paperwork for you, and your insurance company sends reimbursement directly to you according to your out-of-network benefits.
We proudly honor and support our military families at Rivi Endo. San Clemente is home to many who serve, and we are in-network exclusively with military dental insurance to ensure they receive the highest quality care.
During the Procedure
Comfortable and controlled: Modern techniques and anesthesia make root canals similar to getting a filling.
Length: Most treatments are completed in a single appointment. Following the consultation, treatment is typically complete within an hour.
Technology: Rivi Endo utilizes CBCT 3D imaging for precise diagnosis, surgical Zeiss microscopes for meticulous treatment, and precision instruments for accuracy.
Pain and Recovery
During: Patients are numb and comfortable. The procedure relieves the source of pain.
After: Most patients resume normal activities right away. Mild soreness is normal for a few days and managed with over-the-counter medication.
Benefits vs. Alternatives
Benefits: Saves your natural tooth, maintains bite function, protects your smile, and avoids extraction.
Alternatives: Extraction followed by implant or bridge, which are usually more costly and time-intensive.
Post-Treatment Care
A permanent restoration (usually a crown) is essential to protect the tooth long term.
A follow-up appointment is recommended to ensure full recovery has taken place and the treated tooth is healed.
Good oral hygiene and regular check-ups with your general dentist are also important to lasting results.
